The CSIS Africa Program, in partnership with the CSIS Global Health Policy Center, invites you to a roundtable discussion to launch a new CSIS report, HIV Prevention among Injection Drug Users: Strengthening U.S. Support for Core Interventions, authored by Richard Needle and Lin Zhao. Dr. Needle, who will speak in his personal capacity, is a specialist in HIV prevention and treatment initiatives targeting at-risk populations, and was formerly with the Pangaea Global AIDS Foundation. Jessie Mbwambo is a specialist on addiction and injecting drug use at the Muhimbili University College of Health Sciences in Tanzania. Dr. Mbwambo will speak to emerging trends in trafficking and drug use in East Africa and the intersection with HIV. Daniel Wolfe and Tim Mastro will offer brief responses, followed by a question and answer period.
