Impressions of Afghanistan

  • Seema Patel discussed her insights on Afghanistan upon her return from nearly seven weeks in the country. While there, Patel conducted the field portion of the "Measure of Progress — Afghanistan" study for CSIS's Post-Conflict Reconstruction Project.

    In addition to travelling across the country and conducting dozens of interviews, Patel oversaw the training of Afghan interviewers, who conducted hundreds of interviews of local people, capturing their sentiments on issues from security and governance to social well-being and economic opportunity.
