Innovation in the Global Fight Against Drug-Resistant Tuberculosis

  • The Center for Strategic and International Studies (CSIS) Global Health Policy Center hosted Dr. Peter Small, Senior Program Officer for Tuberculosis at the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation. He discussed the status of global TB control and the innovations in research and development needed to address TB in high-burden countries. In the context of an upcoming Ministerial meeting of high MDR and XDR-TB countries in Beijing April 1-3, he spoke about the global efforts to address these new strains, including the potential for leadership from emerging economies.
