He will present findings and recommendations from new research on eight post-war countries including Afghanistan, Sierra Leone and West Bank/Gaza.
In addition, he will discuss the findings of the most extensive empirical research on accountability, corruption, and effectiveness in post-war reconstruction, including findings from case studies of Afghanistan, Timor Leste, Bosnia Herzegovina, Kosovo, Lebanon, Occupied Territories, Mozambique and Sierra Leone.
His remarks will focus on how integrity (accountability, professionalism, and corruption control) might contribute to decrease the risk of a return to open conflict and increase the likelihood of effective and sustainable recovery, presenting recommendations for policy-makers and practitioners and inviting discussion and feedback.
