Latin America: Hydrocarbons at a Crossroads

  • For the past few years petro-politics and resource nationalism have dominated much of the mainstream dialogue about the energy scene in Latin America. At the same time, important changes, some positive, have taken place in many parts of the region.  Today, many countries stand at an energy crossroads, where key events and decisions will profoundly impact their future energy production.  If policies, resources, and commercial frameworks converge advantageously, these countries will represent enormous new opportunities for companies and an important strategic relationship for the United States.
