The CSIS Global Health Policy Center, the Henry J Kaiser Foundation, and Friends of the Global Fight Against AIDS, Tuberculosis and Malaria hosted a speech by Dr. Michel Kazatchkine, Executive Director of the Global Fund to Fight AIDS, Tuberculosis and Malaria.
Dr. Kazatchkine reviewed the multiple gains made in this decade in reducing global inequities through innovative health partnerships, expanded financial commitments, and new forms of political leadership. He also discussed the challenges in sustaining these gains in the face of the severe global economic downturn, and options for achieving higher efficiencies in the use of scarce dollars.
