The Center for Strategic and International Studies (CSIS) Global Health Policy Center hosted Pamela W. Barnes, President and CEO of the Elizabeth Glaser Pediatric AIDS Foundation, to speak about creating a generation free of HIV through the dramatic scale-up of prevention of mother-to-child transmission (PMTCT) programs in Africa. She reviewed the substantial progress already made, the enduring obstacles that remain, and the critical elements of a 3 to 5 year vision for bringing PMTCT to a national scale in key African settings. She also discussed the creative partnerships and integration of global health efforts that are essential for success in light of the worsening economic crisis.Programs
