PONI Speaker Series with Michael Elliott

Please join the Project on Nuclear Issues for a talk with Michael Elliott, Deputy Director for Strategic Stability Plans and Policy Directorate, Joint Chiefs of Staff. In this role, Mr. Elliott is responsible for the formulation of joint staff positions and recommendations regarding strategic deterrence, nuclear policy, Department of Defense efforts to combat weapons of mass destruction, strategic arms reduction negotiations and agreements, as well as other international negotiations and agreements.

Mr. Elliott also served as the chairman's representative to the New Strategic Arms Reduction Treaty negotiations with the Russian Federation. During the negotiations, he was charged with negotiating the conversion and elimination protocol as well as the agreed statements positions of the new Treaty.

Mr. Elliott will speak about this experience in the nuclear enterprise and his thoughts on its future. The event will run from 9:00am-10:00am on February 25 in C-115 at the Center for Strategic and International Studies. Registration is now closed but contact Sarah Minot if you have any questions.
