POSTPONED -- Congressional Forum: A Bipartisan Conversation on America's Energy and Climate Challenges
- Friday, Sep 19, 2008
-
DUE TO CHANGES IN THE SENATE CALENDAR, SENATORS BINGAMAN AND WARNER HAVE ASKED THAT THIS EVENT BE POSTPONED TO A FUTURE DATE IN ORDER TO ALLOW THEM TO PARTICIPATE IN FLOOR DEBATE AND BE PRESENT FOR PENDING SENATE VOTES.
Senators Jeff Bingaman and John Warner will discuss the challenges posed by energy security and climate change and the need for sustained bipartisan cooperation to thoughtfully design and commit to a policy approach that balances economic, environmental and national security goals. This forum is a unique opportunity to hear the perspectives from two distinguished leaders on these issues: Senator Bingaman who serves as Chairman of the Senate Committee on Energy and Natural Resources and Senator Warner who has sponsored S. 2191, the Warner-Lieberman Climate Security Act and also is former Chairman of the Senate Armed Services Committee.
