Press Briefing: President Hu's trip to the United States

  • Chinese President Hu Jintao arrives in the United States on Tuesday, April 18. His visit will have a broad agenda, ranging from copyright protection to North Korea's nuclear program. To help reporters make sense of the issues, CSIS gathered together China experts for a press briefing.

    • Kurt Campbell, a CSIS senior vice president and director of the International Security Program
    • Bates Gill, holder of CSIS's Freeman Chair in China Studies and a co-author of China: The Balance Sheet

    • Nicholas Lardy, a senior fellow at the Institute for International Economics and a co-author of China: The Balance Sheet

    CSIS and the Institute for International Economics recently published China: The Balance Sheet, which was reviewed in the The Financial Times.

    The book's official launch is scheduled for Monday, April 17, at the National Press Club.
