CSIS and the Embassy of Australia hosted an all-day seminar on Jan. 18 to explore trends in multilateralism in East Asia. Participants assessed implications of nascent regionalism on traditional political, economic, and security structures and discussed the appropriate U.S. role in their development. CSIS President and CEO John Hamre, CSIS Senior Vice President and International Security Program Director Kurt Campbell, and Australian Amb. Michael Thawley moderated.
