A Roadmap for a Secure, Low-Carbon Energy Economy

    Jonathon Pershing Energy security and climate change are at the forefront of national and global concerns, driven by volatile energy prices and a growing awareness of changes taking place in the natural environment. The CSIS Energy Program and the World Resources Institute have been engaged in a yearlong effort to find ways to achieve a secure, reliable supply of energy for the United States – while at the same time reducing emissions of dangerous global warming gases into the atmosphere. At this event, CSIS and WRI  previewed the release of our Roadmap for the Obama administration and the new Congress that seeks to find common ground between the security and climate communities and establish a productive path forward on these monumental challenges.
