Kandeh K. Yumkella, Director-General, U.N. Industrial Development Organization
 
Dr. Yumkella will provide his views on the role of the United Nations in fostering opportunities for sustainable development and lasting prosperity, as well as his work as Chairman, UN Energy.  During his tenure as director general of UNIDO Dr. Yumkella has played a pivotal role in shaping policies and programs to address a wide variety of issues including sustainable industrial development, trade capacity building, public-private partnerships, renewable energy and energy efficiency, poverty reduction, climate change, food security, as well as issues specific to development needs in Africa.
