Washington DC, 20006The CSIS Energy and National Security Program hosted a roundtable discussion with members of the Alberta Energy Resources Conservation Board (ERCB), an independent agency of the Government of Alberta, which regulates the development of Alberta’s energy resources, including oil, natural gas, oil sands, coal, and pipelines. ERCB is responsible for ensuring that oil sands development occurs in a responsible manner. The discussion included recent regulatory developments regarding oil sands as well as Alberta’s actions on carbon capture and storage.
