In this Careers in Development session, David Cohen will discuss his extensive experience working with USAID as a Mission Director to Bolivia, Haiti, Panama, and Sri Lanka, as well as his time as an independent consultant in international development. Mr. Cohen will offer specific advice for young professionals as well as insight into the current job market.

David Cohen is a retired Senior Foreign Service Officer. In his more than thirty years with USAID, he served in seven countries in Latin America, the Caribbean, and Asia. He also spent two years as a Professor of National Security Policy at the National War College in Washington, DC. Professionally, he focuses on economics and democracy. Mr. Cohen is a graduate of Rutgers University and holds graduate degrees from New York University and Cornell. Currently, he consults on international affairs, focusing primarily on democracy, governance, and conflict mitigation.
