What are Somalia's nascent political institutions doing to combat the insurgency and stabilize a country fraught with violence?  Is the Transitional Federal Parliament (TFP) developing the institutional strength required to reconcile warring factions and oversee the government's efforts to create a military force capable of protecting all Somali citizens?  And, if not, what role can the international community play in strengthening the TFP and transitional institutions?

The National Democratic Institute and the CSIS Africa Program invite you to a roundtable with a delegation of senior members of Somalia's Transitional Federal Parliament.  The members will provide their perspectives on recent developments in Somali politics, the challenges faced by the transitional institutions, and the efforts being made by the TFP and other transitional institutions to improve security and build public confidence.

Please RSVP promptly to africa@csis.org, as space is limited.
