Structuring Government for Better Cyber Defense

On June 11, Rep. Jim Turner and Sen. Robert Bennett joined a group of industry experts to discuss the implications to cyberspace security of government coordination. Turner, ranking member of the House Select Committee on Homeland Security, delivered opening remarks, while Bennett, chairman of the Financial Institutions Subcommittee of the Senate Banking, Housing and Urban Affairs Committee, provided closing remarks for the event. Among the topics discussed: how the federal government should coordinate and promote the nation's cyber defense strategy; the relevance of Presidential Decision Directive 63 and the new National Strategy to Secure Cyberspace; and the nature of public-private partnerships in cyber defense.
