CSIS welcomed two prominent individuals from Sri Lanka’s civil society speak about the underlying factors that led to the outbreak of war, as well as post-war reconstruction, relief, and reconciliation efforts.
Moderated by: Ambassador Teresita Schaffer
Dr. Jehan Perera is the executive director of the National Peace Council, an independent peace organization based in Colombo. He is also a regular analyst of Sri Lankan conflict and peace dynamics in online and print media. Dr. Paikiasothy Saravanamuttu is the executive director of the Center for Policy Alternatives, a think tank based in Colombo. He is dedicated to strengthening public input into governance and policy through research and analysis.
