The United States and India both recognize the increasing importance of higher education to meet the demands of a growing global economy. Both President Obama and Prime Minister Singh have sought to collaborate in this area through the Obama-Singh 21st Century Knowledge Initiative and through programs to expand student exchanges. Additionally, local governments, private sector companies and foundations have taken an interest in expanding educational ties, notably in the realm of community colleges and skills training programs. In advance of the next annual U.S.-India Higher Education Dialogue later this month, please join us for a roundtable discussion with Ambassador T.P. Sreenivasan on the current status and future direction of this important and growing aspect of bilateral collaboration.
