The U.S.-Japan Alliance: Next Steps and Future Vision

We invite you to a dialogue on developments in Japanese security policy and implications for the U.S.-Japan Alliance. Dr. Shinichi Kitaoka was Acting Chairman of the Advisory Panel on Reconstruction of the Legal Basis for Security, which recently submitted a report to Prime Minister Abe recommending changes in defense policy to exercise the right of collective self-defense. Dr. Michael Green will engage Dr. Kitaoka on the Advisory Panel’s findings, followed by an expert panel discussion on bilateral defense cooperation.
