Working Dinner on the U.S. Position in Asia and Free Trade

  • The Korea Chair and Scholl Chairs cohosted a dinner event to bring together a small, but influential group of business leaders, Hill, and U.S. and Korean government officials to discuss the way forward for Korea in advance of the President's trip to Korea. Among many topics discussed, the future of FTA and U.S.-Korea alliance were at the center of debate.  Deputy Secretary of State James Steinber and Kurt Campbell, Assistant Secretary of State for East Asian and Pacific Affairs, also shared their candid views with participants on the President's policies toward South Korea and the region.
