The World Bank's "Program-for-Results:" New Instruments for Development

February 19, 2015 • 1:30 – 2:30 pm EST

Join us for a discussion on the challenges and opportunities facing the World Bank Group's Program for Results (PforR), an instrument introduced in 2012 to streamline the bank's lending strategy and implementation. The PforR seeks to better finance borrowers' programs of expenditures and activities, disburse against achievement of program results, increase focus on strengthening institutional capacity, and ensure that environmental and social impacts are adequately addressed. In addition, the PforR seeks to promote greater accountability and facilitate a development solutions culture, and foster public-private partnerships in support of borrower programs. This discussion will focus on ways the PforR can better align donor and host country priorities, and will feature World Bank and developing country perspectives.
