Leadership in the 21st Century: A Conversation with Three CIA Deputies

Please join the Center for Strategic and International Studies for a Smart Women, Smart Power (SWSP) conversation with four CIA Deputies: DDS Elizabeth “Betsy” Davis, DADT/DI Sonya Holt, DDS&T Dawn Meyerriecks, and DDA Cynthia “Didi” Rapp. For the first time in history, five of the CIA’s top deputy positions are held by women. In honor of International Women’s Day, four of them will join SWSP to discuss how leadership at the CIA has changed, the CIA’s commitment to inclusion and diversity, and how the CIA will continue to be a leader in the 21^st century.

Dawn Meyerriecks was appointed Deputy Director of CIA for Science and Technology in 2015. Prior to this, Ms. Meyerriecks served as Associate Deputy Director of CIA for Science and Technology. Before joining the CIA, Ms. Meyerriecks worked in the private sector as an independent consultant and Senior Vice President for Product Technology at AOL.

Elizabeth “Betsy” Davis has been the Deputy Director of CIA for Support since August 2019. Prior to this, Ms. Davis served as Associate Deputy Director of CIA for Support/Management, where she focused on driving strategy and aligning resources to position the Director of Support to enable the operational mission.

Sonya Holt serves as the Deputy Associate Director of CIA for Talent for Diversity and Inclusion and Chief Diversity and Inclusion Officer. Ms. Holt has served more than three decades at the CIA and has served in roles where she implemented the ten corporate mandates improving how the Agency manages its full range of talent and increasing senior leadership opportunities for women at the CIA.
