The Center for Strategic and International Studies (CSIS) hosted a book launch of CSIS Trustee Senator Bill Frist's new book.

The CSIS Global Health Policy Center hosted a presentation by Sir Richard Feachem, Professor of Global Health at the University of California, San Francisco. He outlined his view of the salient global health priorities for the 21st century and the necessary ingredients to successfully address this agenda.

The CSIS Global Health Policy Center presents an address by Julie Gerberding MD, MPH, former Director of the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC). Dr. Gerberding focused on the evolving strategic importance of health diplomacy and health development as pillars of the U.S. overall global engagement, and how we might do this better.

American universities are experiencing an unprecedented surge in global health programs. Students and faculty alike have become actively engaged in operational research, project analysis, workforce training, and increasing policy debates. Universities are organizing themselves and developing a global health vision through the newly launched Consortium of Universities for Global Health (CUGH).

The CSIS Global Health Policy Center held an address by Michel Sidibé, Executive Director of UNAIDS.  In his first public address in Washington since assuming his current position, Mr. Sidibé shared his vision for the future strategic direction of UNAIDS, including prospects for accelerated global action in support of universal access to HIV treatment, care and support.
