Duncan Wood is professor, director of the Program in International Relations, and director of the Canadian Studies Program at the Instituto Tecnologico Autonomo de Mexico (ITAM) in Mexico City. He is also a researcher in the Centro de Derecho Economico Internacional (CDEI) at ITAM. He studied in the United Kingdom and Canada, receiving his Ph.D. in political studies from Queen’s University in Kingston, Ontario, in 1996. He is a member of the Mexican National Research System (level 2), a member of the editorial board of Foreign Affairs Latinoamerica, and has been an editorial adviser to Reforma. In 2007, he was a nonresident Fulbright fellow. Between 2007 and 2009, he was technical secretary of the Red Mexicana de Energia, a group of experts in the area of energy policy in Mexico. His research focuses on Mexican and Latin American energy policy, including renewable energy; North American relations; and banking supervision and the political economy of international finance.
