Joachim Hofbauer

Joachim Hofbauer is a fellow with the Defense-Industrial Initiatives Group at the Center for Strategic and International Studies (CSIS). He specializes in U.S. and European defense acquisition and industrial base issues and their impact on the transatlantic defense market. Before joining CSIS, Mr. Hofbauer worked as a defense analyst in Germany and the United Kingdom. His analysis has been published in several U.S. and German defense publications. Mr. Hofbauer holds a B.A. in European studies from the University of Passau and an M.A. with honors in security studies, with a concentration in defense analysis, from Georgetown University.
