Michael Sulmeyer
  • Michael Sulmeyer is a senior fellow with the Defense-Industrial Initiatives Group at CSIS. His research addresses topics across law and national security policy, with a particular focus on the influence of civil-military relations on U.S. defense budgets and the acquisition and termination of major weapons programs. Previously, he was a Zukerman fellow at Stanford University’s Center for International Security and Cooperation, as well as a member of the Afghanistan Legal Education Project. He has also worked as a special assistant in the Department of Defense. Mr. Sulmeyer is a Marshall scholar with an M.A. in war studies from King’s College London and a J.D. from Stanford Law School. He is also finalizing his doctoral thesis for the Department of Politics and International Relations at Oxford University.
