Concerned that the December 1995 Legislative Yuan elections might result in more seats for the DPP, China conducts another round of missile exercises to coincide with the beginning of campaigning in November. In this election, the KMT maintains its majority by only two seats, winning 85 out of 164; the DPP maintains its 54 seats; and the newly formed pro-unification New Party wins 21 seats.
