Ten months into the Obama administration is a useful time to take stock of the U.S.-Central European relationship and to consider both common and differing foreign policy priorities. Moreover, as NATO has been tasked with formulating a new Strategic Concept, it is valuable to obtain the perspectives of the newer members of the Alliance concerning NATO’s development. The conference will feature two panels with former and current U.S. and Central European government officials, as well as regional experts. Among the confirmed panelists are Polish Foreign Minister Radoslaw Sikorski, Czech First Deputy Foreign Minister Tomas Pojar, and CSIS Counselor and Trustee Dr. Zbigniew Brzezinski. U.S. Assistant Secretary of State for European and Eurasian Affairs Philip Gordon will deliver the keynote address over lunch.
