USTDA’s role in promoting U.S. economic engagement will be of increasing importance in the coming years. USTDA will play a key role in maintaining U.S. engagement and influence in important middle income countries where traditional assistance programs are slated for exit. Ongoing economic engagement will also be integral to U.S. strategy in countries that are in the midst of political transformations, including Egypt and Tunisia. Leocadia Zak will discuss the role of USTDA as the U.S. confronts these foreign policy challenges.
