With the results tallied in Sunday's presidential race, Hugo Chávez was reelected as president of Venezuela with an eleven percent victory over main challenger Henrique Capriles Rodanski of the Table for Democratic Unity (MUD).  President Chávez promises to deepen his "socialism for the 21st century." Candidates under the MUD umbrella vow to continue their efforts in Venezuela's December 16 gubernatorial and provincial elections.  Will the MUD survive its electoral defeat and present a united opposition in the December elections?  What strategy will the MUD adopt to win a greater share of the vote?  To answer these questions and many more, the Americas Program is pleased to host a panel discussion with several expert Venezuelan observers.  Join us for this timely and informative discussion.

Open to the public, however space is limited.  To RSVP, please send confirmation to program coordinator Michael Graybeal at
