2010
Mr. Cornelis Oudenaarden, from the Netherlands, is a student at Yonsei University in Seoul where he is taking classes for his MA in International Cooperation with a focus on Foreign Policy and International Security. He was a Kelly Fellow at the Pacific Forum CSIS in Jan.-Feb. 2010, where he focused on humanitarian assistance to North Korea. He has a BA in History and Religious Studies from Indiana University of Pennsylvania and a BA in European Studies from Maastricht University.
2009
Ms. Dayea Diana Park is a 2009 Kelly Fellow and recent graduate of the School of Foreign Service in Georgetown University. Her previous research on South Korea’s resource diplomacy and its emerging arms industry, "South Korea's Arms-for-Energy Strategy," was published in the Columbia University Journal of Politics and Society in April 2009. Her current project focuses on South Korea’s nuclear energy ambitions and opportunities for strengthened US-ROK relations through energy cooperation. Prior to joining the Pacific Forum, she worked for Samsung Corporation, Trading and Investment Group, researching ODA and overseas energy development. She is also founder and former president of Truth and Human Rights in North Korea, a social justice organization based in Georgetown University, which aims to include human security within the discussions in policy toward North Korea in the Washington community. She holds a B.S. in Foreign Service with Honors in International Politics-Security Studies and Certificate in Asian Studies.
Ms. Young Jin Yang, the 2009 Vasey Fellow and the first Kelly Fellow, is from Seoul, Korea. She received her B.A. in international relations from Mount Holyoke College and her M.A. in international studies from the Graduate School of International Studies, Seoul National University. Ms. Yang has previously interned with the Institute of Foreign Affairs and National Security, Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Trade, South Korea. Her research interests include the U.S.-R.O.K.-Japan trilateral cooperation, South Korea-Japan relations, and Japanese politics.
