David Henderson

David R. Henderson has over 35 years of experience with oil and gas companies operating in the domestic and international arenas. Most recently, he has been active as a consultant for companies leasing acreage and drilling wells in several of the shale plays in North America. As COO of EEX Corporation, he managed the acquisition and successful integration of Tesoro’s domestic assets and personnel. He also managed onshore, offshore, and international projects and developed the “Treasure Island” ultra-deep play on the Gulf of Mexico shelf. As president of Pennzoil International Exploration & Production, he negotiated participation in the ACG Unit offshore Azerbaijan. He also managed exploration and construction projects in the former Soviet Union, Qatar, Egypt, and Venezuela. During his tenure at Maxus Energy, he managed the international program and operated E&P licenses in 14 countries, including development of the Intan/Widuri fields in Indonesia. Mr. Henderson graduated with a B.S. degree in geophysics from Virginia Polytechnic Institute & State University and currently serves on the Virginia Tech Foundation Board and the College of Science Dean’s Roundtable.
