The assassination of former Pakistani prime minister and current opposition leader Benazir Bhutto further shredded the country's political fabric, while raising more questions about the effectiveness of U.S. support for strongman President Pervez Musharraf.
Ms. Bhutto, 54 years old, died today following an apparent suicide attack at the site of a political rally in the military garrison town of Rawalpindi. Early reports on her death gave differing details.
