The United States has imposed travel sanctions against 38 people with ties to Zimbabwean President Robert Mugabe, a senior State Department official said.
Jendayi Frazer, assistant secretary of state for African affairs, said financial sanctions will also be imposed against an unspecified number of additional Zimbabweans and two companies, which she said "played a central role in the regime's escalated human rights abuses."
