AILA's leadership training initiatives
Program Levels
AILA specializes its training for three target audiences that have varying degrees of leadership and policy experience.
Interns
U.S. and international students pursuing degrees, who support the research of CSIS's various programs for three to six month terms
Programs:
- General policy briefings
- Hands-on skills training
- Conversations on relevant leadership issues

CSIS full-time staff, serving in research assistant and/or program coordinator positions, in the beginning stages of their careers

- Interactive policy briefings and simulations
- Intermediate skills training
- Meaningful connections to established leaders

Inamori and AILA International Fellows
Non-CSIS mid-career professionals invited for intensive leadership training to enhance their career path
Programs:
- Concentrated policy briefings
- Professional skills training
- Dialogue on leadership, specifically ethical dilemmas and creativity

As a pilot project for CSIS to explore the use of video to inform policy decisions makers a group of young professionals at CSIS produced an introductory video on issues facing Indonesia.
