Asian Regional Organizations and Climate Change

Assessing the role of regional organizations in responding to Climate change and energy security challenges.
CSIS will assess the state of regional cooperation on energy and climate change, both in regional organizations (SAARC, APEC, Asian Development Bank, Asia Pacific Partnership) and under the umbrella of global organizations such as (IEA, United Nations, World Bank). What is the space for Asian regional organizations to contribute in the multidimensional, multilateral systems focused on climate change ? Building on the work of Strategic Views of Asian Regionalism, the South Asia Program is expanding the existing scope of understanding on the views of Asian nations towards collaboration in addressing energy security and climate challenges.
- Analysis of regional cooperation on energy and response climate change
- Field interviews to establish regional landscape
- Emphasis on evaluating degree of information sharing, best practices, and corporate efforts
- Recommendations for strengthening regional cooperation
