Burke Chair on Iran's Military and Nuclear Capabilities

The Iran military and nuclear capabilities project provides analytical reports on Iran's changing military and WMD capabilities.

The project analyzes the following key areas:

  • Iran's conventional military capabilities
  • Iran's Revolutionary Guard Corps asymmetric capabilities
  • Iran's missile capabilities
  • Iran's internal stability

In addition, the project studies the threat that Iran poses to the Southern Gulf states and their energy installations; Iran's role in Iraq and its impact on the overall balance of power in the region; and ongoing development in Iran's internal stability, the struggle between "reformists" and "traditionalists," and their impact on Iran's foreign policy.

In addition to several published books that can be purchased online from the CSIS Press, the project focuses on the steady development of working documents that are revised on an ongoing basis. As a result, all of the material provided in this section should be regarded as working material that is subject to update. To provide suggestions corrections to any material, please send your comments to the Office of the Arleigh A. Burke Chair in Strategy at BurkeChair@csis.org.
