Burke Chair on Terrorism and Counterterrorism
The terrorism and counterterrorism project provides up-to-date analyses and reports on the global threat posed by nonstate actors, terrorist organizations, and the mix between asymmetric warfare and proliferation of weapons of mass destruction.
The project also focuses on the changing nature of warfare, alternative counterterrorism strategies, and the overall net assessment of developments in the Global War on Terrorism. The project is the result of several years of effort and investigation by Dr. Cordesman on the nature of terrorism and counterterrorism, insurgency and counterinsurgency, and the impact of WMD proliferation. The project has produced several books, reports, and articles on the following key subjects:
- Asymmetric warfare
- Biological counterterrorism
- International cooperation in counterterrorism
- U.S. homeland defense
- Proliferation of WMD
