By closely following current affairs in the greater China region, the Freeman Chair aims to provide expert analysis of and strategic policy recommendations on U.S.-China relations, Chinese domestic issues, and China’s role in the international community. 

The Freeman Chair in China Studies regularly provides current, policy-relevant analysis on a wide of range of topics related to both Chinese domestic politics and Chinese foreign policy, including:

  • China’s upcoming leadership transition
  • New dynamics in U.S.-China relations in light of the Chinese leadership transition and U.S. elections
  • U.S.-China military-to-military relations
  • Cyber security
