The Middle East Health Project analyzes Middle East health programs and their international implications.

The CSIS Middle East Program has undertaken original research on the health programs of Egypt, Israel, and Palestine, with a focus on the international implications of regional health policies. Out of this research have come three reports:

'Egypt and U.S. Health Assistance' by Middle East Program Director Jon B Alterman, analyzes the U.S. government's relationship with Egypt's health sector over the last three decades.

'Gaza's Health Sector Under Hamas' by Middle East Program Deputy Director Haim Malka, details the ways in which health care services in Gaza have evolved along with the movement that now oversees them—Hamas.

'U.S. Global Health Policy in Palestinian Hands?' by Haim Malka and J. Stephen Morrison, Senior Vice President and Director of the CSIS Global Health Policy Center, examines the international implications of Palestinian membership in the World Health Organization (WHO) and how cutting U.S. funding for the WHO would hurt both U.S. national interests and UN member states.
