Homeland Security Strategy Forum

Debating the path of homeland security policy in the years ahead.
In an effort to stimulate a national dialogue on the critical issue of homeland security strategy, the Center for Strategic and International Studies, in partnership with Deloitte & Touche, has established the Homeland Security Strategy Forum – the purpose of which is to advance insightful discussion, thinking, and analysis on protecting America against the threat of catastrophic terrorism.
The forum is an informal and off-the-record gathering of senior government officials, ambassadors, and representatives from leading businesses, academia, and the public policy community. In the historical salon of the Smithsonian American Art Museum’s Renwick Gallery, recognized thought leaders will offer long-term visions and practical insights on homeland security issues, charting a roadmap for the development of future homeland security policies.
Since March 2006, the Forum has hosted several leaders in the field of homeland security including:
- Frances Fragos Townsend, assistant to the president for homeland security and counterterrorism.
- Former Senators Gary W. Hart and Warren B. Rudman, co-chairs of the U.S. Commission on National Security/21st Century.
- Michael Chertoff, Secretary of Homeland Security.
- Former Governor of Oklahoma, Frank Keating, and former FEMA Administrator, James Lee Witt.
