By Raj PattaniOn May 15, 2013, the Missile Defense Agency (MDA) destroyed a ballistic missile target in a test of its new Standard Missile-3 (SM-3) Block IB interceptor. The Department of Defense says this interception marks its Aegis missile defense system’s 25th successful kill in 31 tests conducted since 2002.
