Current Vasey Fellows

Mr. Kei Koga, from Japan, is a 2009 Vasey Fellow and a Ph.D. candidate in International Relations at the Fletcher School of Law and Diplomacy, Tufts University. His research interests include international relations theory, international security, terrorism, East Asian regionalism, U.S.-Japan relations and ASEAN. Before attending Fletcher, he served as a Research Fellow at the Japan Forum on International Relations (JFIR) and as assistant executive secretary at the Council on East Asian Community (CEAC), where he researched political and security cooperation in East Asia on traditional and non-traditional security issues. He also teaches International Relations and East Asian Security at the Open University of Japan. He received an M.A. in International Affairs at the Elliott School of International Affairs, George Washington University, and a B.A. in International Affairs at Lewis & Clark College.

Ms. Nadya A. Larsen holds a Master’s of Arts in International Policy Studies from Monterey Institute of International Studies, where her specialization was Security/Terrorism Studies. She also has a Bachelor of Arts in International Studies with Cum Laude Honors from Monterey Institute of International Studies and Bachelor of Arts in Teaching Foreign Languages from Karelian State Pedagogical University Russia. She has currently worked on the 2008 Nuclear Posture Review Project for Monterey Institute Terrorism Research and Education Program Center, the Center for Terrorism and Intelligence Studies, Washington D.C. and General Dynamics Company requested by U.S. Congress. Areas of her expertise are Ideological Extremism and Terrorism in Europe, Central Asia and Northern Caucasus Chemical and Nuclear WMD; Eurasian Internal and Foreign Affairs; Money Laundering and Terrorism Financing. Her research project as a Vasey Fellow is Nuclear Security in the Russian Far East.
