INAMORI FELLOWS
Mr. Motohisa Furukawa is currently a member of the House of Representatives of Japan and serving his fourth term. He is one of the founding members of the Democratic Party of Japan (DPJ), which is the largest opposition party. He also serves as Director of the Research Commission on the Constitution of the House of Representatives. Before becoming a Diet member, he was with the Ministry of Finance from 1988 to 1994. He received his Bachelor’s degree in Law from the University of Tokyo in 1988 and attended the Ministry of Finance Exchange Program at Columbia University in 1994.
Takeshi Ninoyu
Mr. Takeshi Ninoyu is currently an Associate Researcher at the Matsushita Institute of Government and Management, which was established by Konosuke Matsushita, the founder of Matsushita Electric Industrial, Co., Ltd. for the purpose of developing and promoting leadership. A number of graduates have been elected to the Diet.
Fumiki Sakurauchi
Dr. Fumiki Sakurauchi is currently an Associate Professor of Economics at the University of Niigata, Japan. His specialty is public sector accounting and management. Dr. Sakurauchi served for 14 years with the Ministry of Finance, where his positions included Deputy Director of Planning and Coordination, Office of Minister's Secretariat and Deputy Director of the Finance Bureau.
