    For many observers of U.S.-China relations, the past seven years have been unprecedented. Not only has the content of the U.S.-China relations deepened and widened dramatically, but for the first time since the end of the Cold War, the bilateral relationship has gone through a period when no major crises or setbacks have taken place for a relatively long time.
