U.S.-KOREA RELATIONS | New U.S. Ambassador to ROK to be Nominated
The White House announced on May 1 that President Obama intends to nominate Mr. Mark William Lippert as the next U.S. ambassador to South Korea. Mr. Lippert is currently Special Assistant to the Secretary of Defense Charles Hagel and Acting Deputy Secretary of Defense Christine H. Fox. Mr. Lippert has previously served as Assistant Secretary of Defense for Asian and Pacific Security Affairs and Deputy Assistant to the President and Chief of Staff for the National Security Council.
