The North African Military Balance: Force Developments in the Maghreb

There is no military balance in North Africa in the classic sense of the term. While there are still rivalries and tensions between Algeria, Libya, Morocco, and Tunisia, no state in the Maghreb now actively prepares for war with its neighbors, and the prospects of such conflict are limited at best.
