Priorities for U.S. Action
Contributor: Suzanne BrundageJan 25, 2010
Building on its work of the last several years, the CSIS HIV Prevention Working Group organized in the summer of 2009 a consultation on “Revisiting U.S. Approaches to HIV Prevention.” The discussion brought together more than 20 HIV-prevention experts to review the concrete priority steps the United States could take to enhance the effectiveness of HIV-prevention programs during the next five years of the President’s Emergency Plan for AIDS Relief (PEPFAR). Participants were drawn from academia, research institutions, foundations, civil society, government, and service delivery organizations. Each brought to the table significant professional expertise, operational experience, and personal commitment. This report summarized the discussion.
