A New Home for CSIS
CSIS is busy planning for its new home at 1616 Rhode Island Avenue (rendering pictured left), NW, one of the few parcels of undeveloped land in downtown Washington, DC. For more information, please contact John Heyl, senior vice president for development, at 202-741-3955.
We envision that this new space will become a catalyst for our future — a premier destination that facilitates the joining of intellect with opportunity.
The lot is only a few blocks from our current location (view map), which is essential for our continued engagement of world leaders and U.S. policymakers. Our new location retains our proximity to the White House, embassies, and the city’s most prominent institutions. We also will remain close to Capitol Hill and the State Department.
We have ambitious plans for our new home. Behind a striking façade, we foresee a world-class, two-story conference space; multiple visitor and staff meeting rooms; modern, flexible office space to support our growing staff; and state-of-the-art electronics and audiovisual facilities. The building’s design and construction will be guided by the latest green principles.
